From MTL point of view, it's a deal.

From WPG point of view, they don't have many stay at home Dmen and should keep Dillon. Demelo or Smitdt would be more expendable but harder to trade away.

winnipeg doesnt need another forward with locker room issues that doesnt play defence. also winnipeg doesnt care about just fourth for money differences since they have the cap to take a contract of that size; you need to overpay a team for a variety of reasons to take on hoffman, not just cause hes overpaid lol

Hoffman is a cap dump. No one is giving you a far better player than him in return.

Why can't Montreal fans understand that their cap dumps are just like every other cap dump in the league and will cost assets to move?
