Most of your blueline is on the wrong side of 30... Any little bump they get and you're playing with 5 Dmen or they're forced to go on LTIR and miss 10 games to get around the cap. There's a reason teams don't run 20-man rosters.

The Pacioretty move was made so they don't have to make any more. Right now they're about $10.2M over the cap with Shea Weber ($7.857M) and Robin Lehner ($5M) all set to go on LTIR - so they don't need to make any other moves. In fact, they've got enough room to potentially add about $2.5M in cap this season before they put those guys on LTIR.

So no, they don't need to ship out one of their best goal scorers for a 1st, a 3rd, and a non-prospect.

I mean, I feel like it's worse than just "not ideal" since you're actually currently $114 k over the cap right now with your 20 man roster. Leafs can only spend $82.2875 mil this year, because of overages from last year.

Capfriendly does actually apply Liljegrens bonus towards the salary cap
