I’m assuming prospect tourney will be good to go here as it’ll effect NHL camps, can’t wait to see the week unfold.

Imagine not naming this thread HOT TAKE SZN you had one job smh

All hot takes must be said with the utmost confidence, no if statements and they better be actually hot 😤 Takes like Beniers will win the Calder don’t count (he’s my pick, but he’s a top 3 candidate right now any way you slice it so not hot)

- The Sens are making the playoffs and the Bruins are not
- VGK will win the President’s trophy and then get goalied in the first round (by one of Saros, Demko, Oettinger, or Hellebuyck)
- Patrick Kane will be traded (with retained salary) to the Florida Panthers with Samoskevich and a conditional 2027 1st going the other way
- Chicago will finish dead last (not that hot), but then not win either lottery (kind of hot)
- Montreal will pick Dvorsky next year (meaning they’ll be very bad but not quite top 3 bad)
- Matt Murray will win more games in the month of October than he did all of last season, but get injured before the 2023 calendar year
- The Washington Capitals will start the season with the most consecutive wins

- The hottest take of them all: Toronto finally, FINALLY makes it to round two.
- Columbus makes the playoffs over the Caps, and loses in the first round.
- Jack Campbell is a Vezina nominee.
- Jake Sanderson wins the Calder.
- Montreal reaches for the best defenseman available (probably Cameron Allen) in the first round of the draft.

Not saying its a bad signing but honestly with the way he was playing would have gave Parker Kelly a chance to solidify his 4th line status for the 2022-2023 season

Motte's a solid 4th liner but give the kids a chance

Hot takes:

- Owen Tippett doesn’t make the flyers starting lineup out of camp

- Alex Romanov gets one 5th place Norris vote

- Dylan Strome and Mcmichael will be the caps top two centers by mid season

- Tavares struggles at center, forcing Keefe to move him up with Matthews and put Jarnkrok at 2C

- Ty Smith leads Pens D in 5v5 points per 60

Florida misses the playoffs after Ekblad gets injured and their blue line depth gets exposed giving Zito an excuse to spend more picks

Kane gets traded to the Wild in a huge package surrounding Wallstedt

Bedard gets drafted by Arizona but pulls a Lindros scream

Carey Price makes a return out of no where towards the end of the season

Philly does a Buffalo. Starts first in their Division and play stupid well till early Dec then fall straight to last and never recover. And then like Det despite getting last in the league they get the 4OA pick

Toews gets traded to...... Dallas via 3 way trade sarcasm

Matthews gets robbed of 70 goals by 1 because of a bull**** call

Jack Campbell wasnt the answer and Oilers fans turn on Holland for not getting Kuemper again

And not a hot take but an all signs pointing to it

Tavares rebounds

Ooooo, Spicy. I'd be excited by that even if it means Kuzy is kicked to the wing.

I think the ideal lines are

Ovechkin-Strome-Mantha
Kuznetsov-Mcmichael-Wilson (when he’s healthy)

I'd be incredibly happy with this, but I think they would end up putting Wilson on Line one and Mantha on line two (unless Mantha also has a huge season. is that too much to ask?)

I’m still high on mantha, he seems to always push play in the right direction. As ovechkin gets older, that’s what he needs. He’s also a better skater than Wilson so you don’t want that 1st line to be too slow.

Makes sense. I've like how Mantha has meshed with the 2nd line and should be able to do most of what Wilson does, though I think Wilson is slightly better at driving plays on that line than Mantha would be. He's getting really underrated right now, but hopefully he'll show his full potential without any injuries.

I’ve never watched kuzy at wing but I think he used to be on in juniors or something. That would be interesting

- Both Tampa and Colorado will be out of the playoffs by round 2
- Sens make wildcard
- Bruins rebuild begins BEFORE TDL
- Minnesota wins the presidents trophy (therefore they also arent winning the cup)
- Vegas MISSES THE PLAYOFFS AGAIN

The Toews trade doesn't make any sense imo. We already have surplus of centers in comparison to available positions.

Unless it's Devon Toews we're talking about awesome face
