I was hoping Johnson would get the 1C job lol. Don’t think he’s gonna be overly successful as a rookie to the point of being viable in fantasy if he’s at 3LW. Looks like Peeke played a little under half the time with Werenski last year, think being there full time would increase his rate stats offensively? I’m considering snagging him for banger stats, but if he could get 20-25 points that’d be cool too.

Peeke’s a shutdown D, i wouldn’t count on him to put up points on a regular basis, he’ll hit and block though

Here's to hoping no one claims Studenic off waivers now.

Crazy that both Studenic and Tufte got waived. I had both of those guys penciled in as being on the roster. Maybe this mean that either:
1) we need extra $ for Robertson if we waive Dobby instead of trading him, so we run with only 21 guys on the roster.
2) Dellandrea and Damiani are in the NHL next year.

Anyone care to guess what Dallas' roster will look like to begin the season?

Based on what I can see, the players still in camp are:
Forwards: Robertson (RFA), Hintz, Pavelski, Marchment, Benn, Seguin, Gurianov, Faksa, Glendening, Peterson, Kiviranta, Dellandrea (hurt), Damiani, Bourque, Johnston, Stankoven, Karlstrom, Back, Olofsson, Caamano (IR?)
Defensemen: Heiskanen, Lindell, Suter, Lundkvist, Harley, Hakanpaa, Hanley, Miller, Shea, Butcher
Goalies: Oettinger, Wedgewood, Dobby

My guess is:

Bourque, Back, Stankoven, Caamano, Harley, Hanley and Dobby get relegated to AHL / juniors

Opening night DAL has

Marchment / Hintz / Gurianov
Peterson / Pavelski / Seguin
Benn / Faksa / Johnston
Olofsson / Glendening / Damiani

Suter / Heiskanen
Lindell / Lundkvist
Shea / Miller

Oettinger / Wedgewood

Robo holds out for a while, Dellandrea is on IR, Karlstrom, Hakanpää and Butcher are our healthy scratches.

Hmm. Good point.

Alright, let's drop Karlstrom to AHL. Kivi is the healthy scratch.

Surprisingly good. I think DeBoer might give him a shot.

Did he play well though?

I dunno, I can't watch the preseason games in here. Reports suggest he's doing decent.

Does anyone have any insights on Nick Robertson's preseason/camp? Is he looking like a lock too make the opening night roster? Any ideas on where he'll fit into the lineup? Thx.

Very good camp.
I see him as a Lock.
2nd line LW is pretty much onyk spot for him, others wouldn't be relevant.
He's been playing well.

He's been good chipping in points and doing work on the PK. Should be a regular unless we see Holmberg steal the show

As to where he plays 0 idea

Having proper sight is key for a goalie and the technique used on Murray has been used with guys like Vasi, hellybyuck, kuemper, etc so I got no issues. Glad to see they are doing all they can to bring back the monster of back to back street as while the method ain't common it has worked with big name guys.

Wonder what Sanford will do next

Thoughts on Mcmichael for Horvat

I know the capitals should trade mcmichael rn but he isn’t finishing. Maybe he needs more time in Hershey. Snively should be playing over him. And eller at 3c I guess. But there still is an opening.

Bobcat’s Post Game Notes, PS Game 5

Jackets win, 2-1 over the Washington Capitals.

-We finally get to see more of the King of Rock and Roll! Elvis Merzlikins is back in net for this game. Go off, King.

-Trey Fix-Wolansky showed up to the NWA in a beanie. I think that’s nice.

-Aliaksei Protas scores off a rebound to put the Caps up 1-0. I really like this kid, and I hope he continues to play as well as he has in this preseason later on in the regular season, despite the fact he’s a division rival.

-Carson Meyer scores his second goal of the preseason from a weird almost whiff-pass from Sean Kuraly. It looked like he fanned on the puck but didn’t, and Meyer jumps on it and shovels it past Chuck Lindgren. Good stuff.

-I swear, trading for Mathieu Olivier was a terrible idea. Man does nothing but take penalties. I would be more accepting if he fought a little more, but he keeps getting sent off for slashing.

-Second period had 3 penalties. THAT’S IT. Agonizingly boring.

-YEGOR BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMB!!!!!! YEGOR CHINAKHOV SCORES ON A WRISTER THAT BLOWS RIGHT BY LINDGREN! WE’RE UP 2-1! LET’S F*CKING GO!!!

-Gabriel Carlsson gets shuffled off the puck in his own zone and it leads to a good scoring opportunity for the other team. That’s certainly something I don’t miss. Have fun with that, Caps.

-I just now realized how comically small Trey Fix-Wolansky is compared to Vladislav Gavrikov. I didn’t know the NHL had “Take Your Son To Work” Day…

-Caps with an empty net, certainly not making Elvis’s life easy, but he’s holding firm.

-Washington had a juicy rebound, but the King makes an amazing lateral-movement goal with 15 seconds left! Erik Gustafsson, your room is ready at the Heartbreak Hotel! Holy sh*t, what a save.

-WE HOLD ON, AND WIN! That was nerve-wracking for the last 2 minutes, but the defense held up well. If I had to award a Player of the Game, I’d have to give it to Elvis. Man was standing on his head with his eyes closed, and I really wanna see that carry through to the regular season, and maybe get some Vezina votes in the process.
