And I was wrong - but I’d bet this trade looks real good for the stars by mid season. I’d bet money on it. Lundkvist is well worth the 1st rd pick, but usually requesting a trade lowers value

Looks good until the Stars miss the playoffs. I would rather have any player in this first two rounds of this draft than Lundkvist

Ngl I much rather pay a first for Lundkvist than Petry.

Dude is only 22, is a NHLer right now and has two years left on ELC.

This can look good in the end even though it is an overpayment right now.

At least the first is protected. Didn't have to go full Chiarot here.

It is extremely unlikely the stars miss the playoffs. I’d take nils lundkvist over a prospect in the 16-32 range in the 2023 draft and I know how deep it is.

I’m keeping this receipt lol - lundkvist will be a quality top 4 D within 2 months of the season as long as they don’t staple him to some pylon.

He's a LHD. Not as valuable as a RHD.

He's older.

He's not proven NHL caliber.
