....part of the what now?

it's pretty obvious at this point that Mcleod, Formenton, and Batherson are heading towards some type of discipline or criminal charges depending upon what each of their involvement was. Boris Katchouk appears to be cooperating with the investigation but has made no statement about his own actions or involvement; so he might very well be the one that is referenced as being invited up to a "pizza party" and left after 10 minutes "unsure of what he witnessed".

I don’t know what kind of advice Sandin is getting but there will literally be a top 4 role ready for him in like 10-15 games. No chance Muzzin comes close to playing 82 games

Its like the hockey gods are going no more excuses get your ass to camp lul

As come on what more has to happen for him to come

Like Muzzin and Liligren are out, Gio is willing to play RD, and there is a nice 2 year deal waiting

Come to camp and earn that permanent spot

But nah guy has picked a price and is sticking to it. If Gross drags this out till Dec rip Sandin

Avs update on the 2nd line center competition...

Bednar: Avalanche Second-Line Center Job Likely Between Rodrigues And Newhook; More Media Day Notes

This does NOT include Compher; but a mix of Rantanen, Rodrigues, and Newhook.

Also worth noting that Nichushkin is still limited due to his broken foot so he might even start the season on IR.

forgive me for my naiveness but what is the difference between Trotz chemistry and normal chemistry?

The best way I would describe the difference would be;

Trotz puts “scientific ingredients” aka the players in his flask following his own precise and exact formula. If it doesn’t work, jokes on you, it’s the ingredients fault so we’re just going to keep at it till it does.

Where as someone like Boudreau is going to mix and match and find what works with the ingredients he’s got and adjust the formula accordingly or see if he can actually refine the ingredients individually.

Or in simpler terms, Trotz is a rock. Boudreau is water. In the Islanders room, they desperately needed some water but Trotz kept throwing rocks at them.

I would like an investigation into this. If it’s a lie they should forfeit their 2023 1st IMO

Why would you need an investigation in that? No team has ever been punished for cap circumvention so you'd assume the NHL covers their ground

Not sure LTIR is what he means. The pool of LTIR relief is only used if the Coyotes reach the upper limit of the cap. Is there some sort of requirement that a player that doesn't pass his physical get put there? Or does he just medically retire and the cap hit gets removed.

This is important because the Coyotes without Ladd's AAV are going to be below the cap floor.

Thus creating a need for them to add about $5 million in AAV to be in compliance. Thus sparking off a big bidder's market for that space with any or all of: Edmonton (Barrie?), Toronto (Kerfoot/Holl?), Florida (Hornqvist), and possibly Carolina (Gardiner).

If I were Arizona I would target Florida or Edmonton who are in the most desperate spot for cap relief; or even both if you could pull it off and acquire Barrie then flip him with retention to Florida who need RHD help.

Arizona wouldn't actually put Ladd onto LTIR, they'd put him on IR for the whole season, no reason for them to put him on LTIR, same as the sens did for Callahan and Gaborik when they needed to reach the floor

Is there any reason that not passing his physical affects his contract status?

Not passing your physical is pretty much a way of saying this guy will be on IR/LTIR for the year, it implies the player is either in horrible shape or injured

I understand that; just referring back to the OP says he will be placed on LTIR. I was wondering if there is anything in the CBA about that. If he retires does the contract automatically come off their cap or do they have any choice or flexibility in how it gets handled?

He is only due $1 mil in salary so I assume AZ wants his cap hit to meet the floor (and not use LTIR or have him retire) and pay him his $1 mil; but is there anything preventing them from doing that based on his medical situation?

If he retires, contract vanishes, hence why he probably won't retire ( and why guys like Callahan, Gaborik, Price, etc won't/didn't retire )

Not gonna lie

After hearing the Chycrun news and how he wants to go to a serious cup team now one team that comes to mind for some weird reason is the Wild

They have the cap space, assets, and could use him despite the Kulikov trade

As imagine

Chycrun-Spurgeon
Brodin-Dumba
Middleton-Goligoski

He also helps them when Dumba eventually leaves via FA

As honestly why free up 5mill in cap something must be going on

I get what they are doing but this is ridiculous, unless a guy is a supporter of the war why should he be punished for something wrong that his country is don't doing and has no control over

they are trying to turn the russian population against putin. i don't like the idea of banning a whole population but totally understand why eastern european countries are doing it.

They have Calen Addison who was really good in his limited time in the NHL, and he dominated the AHL. Brock Faber should be ready by next season. I don’t think they need D

I am sure the majority of Russians are against Putin but they don't say anything because they don't to get sent to a gulag or Siberia or something worst

It actually makes total sense, Czechia is in eastern europe, to show off Russian talent would be like encouraging Russia, and the Czech people don't want that

you need riots in the streets in you want to overturn a government and this is a good way to start.
