I'd rather keep Vatanen then have JVR. Team would be better off going after Palat with Vatanen or a player like J.T. Miller

Bob Murray isn't stupid to trade 3 years of Vatanen for a 1 year rental in JVR, It will take at least Kapanen to get Vatanen Murray will want a cheap ELC for Vatanen mark my words.

Sure, in a vacuum you keep Vatanen. But with the expansion draft (and a potential HUGE contract for Fowler) looming, the Ducks have to get something for him or they lose him for nothing to Vegas.

Yeah Murray wont lose Vatanen to Vegas, Pretty sure there's at least 15 teams or so interested in Vatanen. Murray will have plenty of suitors for Vatanen it's just choosing the right deal that can better his team. And that's probably either Palat for Vatanen+ or maybe JT Miller for Vatanen.

Friedman also hinted that Vatanen for Dallas' 3rd overall pick was an option, but it didn't seem like the system allowed you to deals for this year's picks.

From what i have noticed on these forums is people think they have the upper hand against Anaheim. The fact that multiple teams are wanting Vatanen is going to make this better for Anaheim. It's very difficult to get a top4 D man for cheap. Espcially under 5 million. I honestly think regardless of expansion draft ducks were going to trade a defenseman.

Exactly. The idea that the Ducks are going to move Vatanen for something they don't need has been done to death. It's not happening. DET, NYR, TB are just 3 of the teams I can think of that need a RH offensive D-man and Shatty didn't look so good in WSH.

Vatanen for 3rd OA? Done. However, I doubt that's being talked over. DAL needs a LH D-man. Fowler will be their desired player, but (I hope) he's not getting moved. DAL has Klingberg on the right side. They need a more defensive option.

Exactly. I'd love Miller, but I think Kapanen + 17th OA is more likely. BM just loves those 1st rounders.
