Sounds like Horvat will have an extension shortly with VAN, so I doubt he moves at the deadline. If he's somehow still unsigned then it might happen if VAN is out of the race.

I would like 2 pieces: Schneider and at least a 1st. We don't need an undersized defenceman in Lundqvist

Why do the rangers want Horvat? We have Trocheck locked up for seven years as our second line center and we don't have much wiggle room the next few years with Miller, Laffy and Chytil coming up this year and Lindgren, Schnieder and Kakko coming up in two years.

Unless he want to move to RW, our top 6 is pretty set. I want him as a player, but I dont see it being realistic or a good idea for NYR's situation.

Because I doubt we will have luck getting our back end locked up as cheap as theirs was.

thats why its only a conditional second. its a pure rental trade unless they resign him. he is for win now

Yep, but there will likely have to be another trade over the next year to clear cap room if they want to bring back all both Kuzmenko and Hoglander too.

Conditional picks based on players signing are no longer allowed. Rule changed 2 years ago. Rangers do not have the cap space to make the trade now and will have less cap space to sign Horvat next year when Chytil, Laffy and Miller need new contracts. Also, Vancouver wants to win this year. A 4th line RW doesn’t replace a 2nd line Center. Nothing about this is realistic.
