Thoughts on making Oshie 3c if we get a top six winger

Not a fan. I think Oshie ends up as a 3rd liner anyway later into this year and while he's not terrible at C, I'd rather let someone more experienced at C play the position like Eller. or I would go with McMichael at 3C should there be a move made to get a Top 6 guy, but with Brown and Strome already being picked up earlier.

Fehervary struggles with Carlson to start the year and gets swapped with Orlov, both pairs play much better after the switch.
McMichael usurps Eller as the 3C by the All Star break, slides Strome to the wing and moves up to 2C by the end of the year.
Strome and Brown have career years in the middle 6, Strome and McMichael gel with Mantha and become the 2nd line by the end of the year.
Sheary struggles to start the year but finds his footing on the 4th line with Dowd and Hathaway.
Lindgren is sent down by mid-season, Fucale fills in as backup until the TDL when the Caps find a better backup.
Hunter Shepard gets an emergency callup for one game and gives up only 1 goal, further feeding Caps fans strange belief in getting an elite 1G out of a 26 year old who hasn't been a consistent AHL starter.

Not too bad, should be back at practice this week, but the fact that he's out in the first place concerns me

I am very cautiously excited. This team could be quite good... but the similarities to 2004 worries me. Hopefully it isn't another tank midway through situation.

Insane amounts. Only problem was, they didn't mesh well at all. The team was garbage and blew it up, firing a young Bruce Cassidy (who wasn't ready to be an NHL head coach at the time), trading guys like Jagr, Bondra, Konowalchuk, Lang, Gonchar, and Nylander. Luckily, that blowup and failure brought us the magic of a young Alexander Mikhailovich Ovechkin.

Protas getting reps on the 3rd line is exciting, hopefully he can jump Johansson for playing time.

I'd guess he gets more in the 15 minute range, 3 SOG, 1 goal. I'd flip the goal for an assist depending on who Detroit has in net, however
