That value is not enough for Bertuzzi...and also since he isn't vaccinated, he's not even allowed in the country to play for the leafs lol.

Sandin = 2nd round pick, Sorry but Tyler Bertuzzi at nearly 50% retained is worth far more than a 2nd and 3rd round pick. You'd need to add at least a 1st round pick and a B prospect on top of it.

Technically that's not true, he'd need to quarantine for two weeks. But technically he could play in Toronto. But it would be no different in the US than Canada. He wouldn't be aloud to play in the US, Which would defeat the entire purpose of even trading for him. And Sandin and a 3rd is nowhere near enough.

Are Canadians still afraid of Covid or have things settled down?

I wouldn't say that the majority of Canadians were ever afraid of Covid our government and media definitely tried to make things appear that way though, LOL.

The US is no longer requiring vaccinations but they are recommending for people that are considered high risk. US pharmacies will soon be stocking the latest COVID vaccine and treating it like a flu shot.

From what I've heard even if they allow antivaxers to cross without the mandatory quarantine period the teams will still be testing players on regular basis.

It's not just the Canadians that decision was made by the US as well.

They do. But they fly out of international airports. Which I believe means they still need to be vaccinated.

In the US private flights enter and exit through through a different entrance never having to set foot in the main airport. A friends dad runs a car service picking up celebrities to and from the airport.

I've flown several times since Covid hit and not once have I had to show proof of my vaccination.

Smaller jets do. I'm not positive sure if larger jets leave from executive flight centres or a different spot in the main airport.

In Canada vaccination is required for all flights. I think the main issue is that the leafs organization would not have anyone with that mindset. They are a very left wing team. As much as the thought of mixing politics and sport disgusts me.

I have no idea about Canada but the US the biggest draw is you don't have to go through go through the main terminal and deal with any of the delays that come with commercial air travel.

But you are right it would be a pain in the ass to have to set everything up incase the NHL doesn't change its Covid restrictions. I also agree with keeping politics away from the site but this topic directly impacts The NHL.

I'm in the minority but I doubt the covid restrictions will apply to to NHL players this season. With Bertuzzi he did have a positive covid during last season and missed time because of it. So you could say he is now better protected than the vaccinated players because he now has antibodies directly from Covid and not the vaccine which is basically a weakened version of the virus. The thing that gets me people think the Covid vaccine is like a magic bullet and it means they can't get Covid if they have had it but in reality its about as effective as regular flu shot which will protect 40% - 60% of healthy adults who get a flu shots.
