3rd line is more offensive than 2nd line IMHO. Guindon is a goal scorer and Simoneau is a wizard with the puck. Heineman is more of high end checker at the next level and Condotta is probably a career AHL'er. Beck is the cog on that line alone.

Sabres only have a couple of their top prospects playing (Savoie, Rosen), as it sounds like Kulich won't be participating now because of a nagging injury. They have a lot of invites who aren't even Sabres prospects in the line-up. Seems most of the top guys are either being held out for training camp, injured, in college or playing overseas. A bit disappointing really.

MTL don't have Guhle (but he will play, just not tonight), Joshua Roy (injured, wont play), Logan Mailloux (injured, won't play), NCAA (Farrell, Hutson, Tuch, Struble, Smilanic), and missing a couple more playing overseas like Kapanen Engstrom, Kostenko (I stop after 3rd rounders)

I think Mysak is playing 3rd line Center for the same reason Harris is playing RD, lack of another quality center

If Warm is starting in net, look for a lot of goals against.

- Olivier Nadeau (looking forward)
- Isak Rosen (looking forward)
- Matej Pekar (looking forward)
- Matt Savoie (looking forward)
- Oskari Lasskonen (looking forward)
That’s pretty it

Because there were so many players tying to make an impression, it was a bit helter skelter for most of the game.
The Canadians seemed be much stronger along the boards then the Sabres and for the first 15 minutes, the Sabres allowed four odd man rushes as the defense was pressing too hard.
I did not remember seeing Nadeau or Pekar.
Rosen surprised me and played very well, Savoie has great speed, did a fine job on the PK, but not much else.
Kozak and Berzolla were by far the best forward and D-man respectively among the Sabres.
Laaksonen, Weissbach and Kisakov played well enough to be given a good look before the season starts.
Slafkovsky and Norlinder made some great moves to excite me.

Warm and Vrbetic were atrocious, Vrbetic the worse. Norlinder Harris were MTL best players and Rosen Weissbach caught my attention. Slafkovsky was really good or very bad, trying to do too much to impress. Both MTL dwarfs Simoneau (43) and Tourigny (57) were horsepiss as well. And thanks for your comment above, I had Capfriendly open to help me with players numbers lmao

Thank you for your assessment.
I guess I chose not to comment on the GK as Joe Vrbetic was drafted only last year and Beck Warm is a career AHL GK, but you are correct.
@F50marco is correct "Can't wait to see them play tonight!"
Buffalo is very fortunate to be able to host this event.
I spoke to some scouts (Rangers, Krakens, Devils) as we were leaving, but they would not offer their perspective.
