Not sure you will get a 1st for Toews even with 75% retention (3rd team involved)

Unless Domi has a heck of a year I can't see you getting 2nd for him. Probably a 4th if you're lucky.

Bc one team made a dumb trade doesnt mean other teams will. 10.5m is different than 3m in aav. Teams are not giving a 1st for Toews who is super washed as a player,
Toews has a full NMC, if he moves its for a destination of his choice, Hawks have 0 leverage in trade talks. They will get what they can and have to retain to do so or else he walks for nothing

you're paying for playoff experience. Toews has been a leader in chicago, and can drive another team to a cup very easily. His game might have slipped, but can still be a 2/3C and front man a penalty kill. He's most definitely getting a 1st come the deadline (if hes moved)

playing on the first line with kane until the deadline might drive up his value if he does really well. Hawks are smart for that

Just saying I certainly wouldn't. He probably gets a 2nd imo, especially if his offensive game slips more this year

Domi was basically given away for nothing in his trade to CAR last year. Nothing prospects and CBJ even tacked on a 6th while retaining 50% to FLA before he was moved to CAR for a nothing prospect.

to be fair, he wasnt having the most productive year. Carolina traded a C/B tier prospect in that trade only to throw him in their bottom 6.
Like i said, if he can rack up points alongside kane it could drive up his trade value

yeah I wouldnt be brining up his leadership as its a positive now. He was the leader of the most toxic hockey culture in decades

Yeah, I said if he has a really good year you might be able to get something, but you're not getting a 2nd or more. Certainly not a 1st lol

In all senses of reality, if he's pacing at around a 15G+ season by the deadline, you might get a 3rd. Domi is trash.

winning cups doesnt absolve him of his leadership issues during that error, and even today he refused to address it. The model NHL captain label of Toews has taken a dramatic hit. He isnt who people assume he was.

avs cant afford toews even at half. hawks would have to find another team to retain

hopefully toews would be persona non grata for the avs

Toews value is very dependent on how he does this season. I'm hopeful he bounces back with having a full offseason to train instead of heal and he was trending up towards the end of last season. Plus the hawks will most likely put toews and Kane on a line for the first time in a loooong time to get both of their values up.

Hawks want more than that for Kane. If Kane says he will only play for the rangers than this would be the return but he's been extremely loyal to the hawks for this long. Can't see him screwing them over now like giroux did to philly.

Domi and athanasius both probably get less than a 2nd unless they play on the top line and have a crazy bounce back. I'd think a 3rd rounder would be a win for the hawks.

Kinda seemed like the hawks wanted kane gone long ago, seeing as how they traded literally every decent line partner he's had until he says he wants to leave.
Debrincat - Gone
Hagel - Gone
Hartman - Gone
Panarin - Gone

that dude is one stubborn guy ill give him that.

I'll give you debrincat. They definitely made it clear that they a rebuilding no matter what with that trade.

Hartman at the time was a huge overpay by Nashville. No way you can turn that kinda offer down for what at the time was a third liner. Not playing with Kane. He's only recently broke out with Minnesota.

Hagel barely played on kanes line. That was debrincats spot. I'd say that was another overpay in Chicago's favor too but probably too soon to tell.

Panarin was the dumbest move of bowman career. That one should've gotten him fired. Bowman was so obsessed with the thought of getting toews better linemates and he knew Kane would be elite with any linemates. Technically not completely wrong but should've gotten a much better return for panarin.

Domi and AA likely to get 3rd round picks in return. Maybe 4th.

He'll return a minimum of a 3rd just because of game 7 against Boston last year for us. He's got a 3-point game 7 in the last calendar year. That's got value

A minimum of a 3rd? Disagree. Is the a 3rd possible? Yes, as I said if he has a decent season then yes.

Disagree. I think the 3rd has to be the minimum. A 4th would get laughed out for a good middle-six winger.
