Lundqvist wouldnt want to be here since he apparently thinks he can drive offense at the NHL level. Well that isnt gonna happen when you have Dahlin and Power playing all the prime mins. Also Asplund is a proven NHL calibre player, no way Id move him and his talents for a player with no proof at the NHL levwl

If true, what an arrogant prick. He didn't drive offense in the AHL last year, so there's no reason to think he's an NHL star with a bunch of value.

Exactly why I want nothing to do with him. Players arent entitled to opportunities, they have to earn them

Pretty sure him being arrogant is speculation. The fact is that he will not get a sniff of any NHL time for the next 4 years in NY with Trouba, Fox, and Schneider. I really don't blame him for wanting out. What Fox did was way worse, not playing with your draft team because you will only play on NYR. Lundqvist is better off asking for a trade now and working his way up a team with opportunities available to showcase his NHL ability. Of course he has to produce at the AHL level but within the next year or two he needs to get time on a NHL team. He won't get that in New York, and yeah if BUF wants him they could probably get him for a 3rd rounder.
