Ottawa says no, huge overpay. And Rangers don’t have the cap space.

Rangers say no. Contenders don't take on cap dumps.

The 2nd might be enough for Lundqvist but NYR wouldn't have any interest in Zaitsev or Brannstrom.

Overpay? Zaitsev is a cap dump and Branmstrom has no value. The second will be fairly low and might not even get them to take on zaitsev.

I love Brannstrom but this is a sweetheart deal for Ottawa. I don't even like Lundkvist, but value wise it's at worst a wash between him and Branny, then it's a 2nd to dump Zaitsev. New York would never ever do this.
