Wheeler isn’t getting traded for a third liner, an overpaid lefty d man and a bad contract. I half expect Rick Bowness and Chevy will lose their jobs before Wheeler gets moved.

I know this post was half a meme. I think he could get moved but the return would be better.

The big sticking point for the Jets was that they do not want to retain salary (according to beat reporters) and that is a big reason he didn't move. I can't see that changing until the 2023 offseason, 2024 TDL or if there is some sort of hissy fit that makes his continued presence untenable (E. Kane in WPG, Dubois in CBJ). I think he stays in Winnipeg this season, but who knows...

I know. The Jets want to trade without retention and get a good return. That isn't happening so he is probably going to spend the season with the Jets.
