Chytil > Dvorak
Lundkvist > Struble and a 3rd

And dumping Reaves doesn’t make up for that

Lets not pretend Chytil is a good player. Career 25 point player...

Had a great playoff run — I’m an isles fan and even I can admit that

7 goals in 20 games is solid but lets not pretend that is enough to make up for his dissapointing production in the past few years. One playoff run doesn't make him good....

He would produce more in a bigger role. At least imo.

With Strome leaving in UFA, he could've been the Rangers 2C but clearly they don't trust him enough as they signed Trocek to be the 2C for the next 7 years. Even the Rangers don't feel Chytil is good enough for an increased role

The flip side of that is the fact the rangers signed Trocheck for 7 years, and he has a long standing relationship with Gallant. Did the rangers do what was right for the team or what was right for Gallant? Cause at that point I would’ve kept Strome tbh.

His points total is more a function of his usage...and NYR have a history of leaning on "less productive" veterans than young players. Chytl's pts/60 since he's been with NYR has been with pretty good company around the league. All he needs is opportunity and he should show solid production. That all said, last regular season was a disappointment...but he showed in the playoffs how he can be a force in this league. If you want to minimize his actual point total in last year's playoffs-go ahead...but anyone watching the games saw how he carried play and was a problem for the opponent just about every time he stepped on the ice.

As far as signing Trocheck because they have no faith in Chytl- not really true. Also- even if Chytl was 2C, they still would have needed to find a 3C...Now, Chytl can continue to develop on 3rd line- which at the moment is better for him anyway. And when he is ready to move to the 2nd line (if that is even the move to make) nothing wrong with either him or Trocheck moving to wing- but a lots of other moving parts to consider before that move is made....and maybe by that time, the time is right to move Chytl- but at that point his value should be considerably higher than it is now...so for now just let the 23 yo continue to develop and prosper on the 3rd line.

Still would prefer a little more out of him by now. His point totals have been literally the exact same each here in his career

Dvorak had more points under MSL than Chytil has as a career high. Struble and a 3rd is more than enough for a player who refuses to report to training camp and has meh AHL numbers. Reaves is a cap dump

Dvorak is a good player, But I really liked Chytil during the rangers playoff run. Dude is legit.

Also even if Lundkvist wants a trade, he’s a righty d man which is a premium position. Someone will pay for him. Struble and a third won’t get that deal done imo. Not when he can go to UFA in a year.

Thanks for the stat report but that's not his game. He's big, solid and still learning. He has a good future, his cap will have to go within a couple of years unfortunately and we needed Trocheck
