Horvat may have to go

Description
I hope they get an extension done at a reasonable number, but this is what Elliotte Friedman said about it on Donnie and Dhali's show this morning;

"It is not close, not progressing. Some people think it will be in the 6's, I do not believe that, in the very least in the 7's." He went on to say they might be looking for closer to 8 AAV.

If Miller got 8, there's no way Horvat should be asking for close to that. I get that the Captaincy adds value, but his production is nowhere near the same as Miller's. To me 6.75 to 7 seems like the sweet spot; more than Boeser's AAV, but not quite the same level as Miller or Petey.

    I don't know what y'all would want, but i wouldn't expect it to come from Columbus. We didn't want JT Miller (as we had to say close to a million times in thousands of ACGM threads), so i doubt we'd take Horvat.

    I just picked any team that might want a center, doesn't have to be CBJ

    You have to think they run with Horvat for some time this year, especially in the Pacific division. They should be close to 3 in the Pacific, if they're anywhere close to a Wildcard it would be a pretty hard move to sell don't you think? Could unfortunately go the Gaudreau route.

    That's why they should look at all options before the season starts. If the Horvat camp is asking too much and not willing to budge, Allvin has to gauge the market to see if there's an acceptable offer out there.

    Absolutely, what do you think a good return for the Canucks would be if they're looking to keep their window wide open while Demko is on a ridiculous good deal?

    Probably something along the lines of what the rumored Rangers offer was for Miller at the draft; a younger current 3C, RHD and a pick. It would be an overall downgrade this year, but VAN has to look beyond this year for keeping the competitive window open.

    Good luck. It's so hard to judge the market right now. I'd expect there to be one for Horvat, but with nobody having any cap, it's going to be so weird. I hope you guys can either make a run to justify not trading him, or get lucky and find a good partner.

    Coumbus probably isn't in the market, currently also having no cap space and several players of close enough (not identical but similar enough) caliber already in Roslovic and Jenner not to mention figuring out Johnson and Sillinger's roles. I'm sure a team with a clearer roster and a better playoff likelihood would be interested, though.
