How do you afford MacKinnon doubling and Horvat going up 2.5x the amount you are paying them?

erik johnson is probably taking a paycut, compher might too
but doubt that is enough to resign everyone

I don't really trust insiders when it comes to extensions with this new management team. Miller and the Canucks were apparently very far apart and the next thing you know, Miller is locked up

Then add what Hoglander gets(didn't realize he had 1 year left, Byram will want 3 mill maybe and Meyers might want a raise

I agree . This management group tells the media Jack. It almost seems like they troll certain media like Sekeres and Drance.

I fully expect Bo will be signed long term in the next few weeks. Canuck fans love the guy . Most media just rile up the fans to sell their product .

They might be able to since they no longer have to set aside cap for Newhook

It would be tight and require Toews or Girard to be moved, and possibly Francouz replaced by Annunen depending on what MacKinnon gets. But probably doable with the cap rising.

Depends on what Byram is able to command. Don't forget Compher and Rodriguez come off the books in addition to Johnson's cap which is of course already projected to be taken up by MacKinnon's new deal

Not enough money for Mackinnon, Byram, and horvat.. even if they trade Girard and newhook. I think

I did a Year 2 of this trade in another AGM. It would be tight and require Girard to go and probably also Francouz unless MacKinnon takes $11.5m instead of $13m.

I don't think he takes 13, sounds like it'll be a fair deal but he realizes that you need a supporting cast to win..

I predict 11,290,000 for 8 years which is still 90mill

A 1 year rental and a winger coming off of a down year where he is struggling for ice time isn't going to get you that return.

Col doesn't need wingers and they can't resign Horvat so at most here that would be a 1st and a mid level prospect at the TDL..... however

Van ALSO isn't in a position to move Bo because (ignoring that he is their C) their other moves put them on a track to win now, so even if they can't sign him they still can't really trade him as that likely costs them the season.

I think moving out players for futures became a lot less of an option after all the signings this offseason. If you are deadset on moving out Bo then there are other better teams to send him to
