Tough spot to be in for Dubas depending on Timmy's injury. May force him to get Sandin signed, paying more than he'd like to.

Why? isnt that why they signed Mete and Benn in case of injury. What are the details on the injury i havent been able to find it.

Exact injury hasn't been reported yet. But I would imagine they'd prefer Sandin on the ice over Benn and Mete.

That self-entitled Sandin can sit out for all I care, we signed Benn for depth and didn't trade Holl. Until he signs a $1.4M contract that Liljegren signed for, he can play in Sweden. If Dubas caves in, it will be embarrassing

I agree that they would rather have Sandin than Benn or Mete but if Sandin is going to sit and think he should get more than the Liljegren contract I would let him sit. He should look at the Nylander situation, Willy did not have a great year after sitting til November, if he proves it the next two years his payday will come.

I love this nonsense. Some people just go around looking for every excuse to be negative about their team and players, and the ultra forced tie in to dubas just so you can be mad at him makes it even better

Applies to both of them. If the leafs had moved either of those guys for scraps half the people round here making kerfoot for a 5th or holl and a 3rd for future considerations would be mad that dubas traded them and now there was injuries

Kerfoot still should be traded, we can use 3.5M more effectively, could even get two serviceable top-9 players for that cap hit

Should have done that in the offseason when there were free agents though, that would have been best

Or they could have traded him and none of the free agents youre thinking of signed in toronto and now they have injuries and malgin is on the 2nd line now.

Don’t agree with you very often. But a lot of us knew this would be the Dubas plan headed into this season. Bounce players around through LTIR as needed and then make a move mid season… some so called leaf fans will miss Kerfoot immensely if and when he’s gone next yesr. Hopefully Holl bounces back. A 2 M big body right handed D man who plays PK and near 20 mins a night is quite desirable.

Or they make trades and get cheaper players to replace kerfoot

Or have a trade on paper, sign the guys, then make the move

You dont think he would have done that if it was an option?

You'd have to think Toronto picks up a short term 4C instead of playing Douglas right? Possibly Rask if CBJ releases him from the PTO? I know Douglas was ok in the AHL but I'd have to think they'd want someone more experienced there if they can find someone for cheap.

There were so many, 2 of Milano, Stastny, Balcers, Rodriguez, Kubalik over Kerfoot at around the same $$ amount

I think Steeves will get that chance

Or even one of them and add an additional RHD, more balance

Again, you dont think dubas would have tried to sign two of those guys and move kerfoot if it was an option?

Sandin isn't self-entitled, he and his agent are protecting him as they should. It's a business and fans forget this. Remember the Marner and Nylander situations?
