Toews is a top end dman, arguable 10-15 league wide.
The value between players is staggering, futures doesn’t make up the value and cap wise there is little to no savings next year; avs have 0 need for wingers, their top 6 wingers are locked in long term

The rumour value for Jesse is a 3rd round draft pick, he’s not getting toews as the main roster pieces packages up with futures that do not help the avs roster to cup defend

I had to google what a Reid Schaefer was andI'm low on Poolparty. I want my old pal Greg Mckegg. With a leg for an arm and an arm for a leg.

avs will need to resign an entire bottom 6 next year and they will be close to capped out with the resigning of Newhook and Byram. Trading toews gives them cap space and Puljarvi would be a good, not too expensive third liner. and they get a 1st and Schaefer who is a late first rounder who may be able to play in their bottom 6 on an elc.

This is just 100% wrong

Avs gave their own guys on elc to play in thei bottom 6. This is just not even remtorly close to toews value for the avs to consider

There is no cap savings, toews makes 4.1m. JP is an unsigned rfa with arb rights with a QO over 3m. You think he’s going to sign less than 3m. This won’t even be enough savings to fit in an elc next year, 500k at the best case scenario

Jnatant decline and a bad trade

If they're cap strapped why are they trading one of their best value deals? If they need to move someone they should move someone who isn't as good as their cap hit. Toews is a 7.5 million dollar value d man making 4.1

Stars sign Miller. Oilers fans still try to trade Barrie to Dallas. Stars trade for Lundqvist. Oilers fans still try to trade Barrie to Dallas. I honestly hope y’all have to pay to move him at this point

Why in the world would the Stars trade for Barrie two days after trading for Lundkvist? Barrie to the Stars stopped making sense 2 months ago when they signed Miller
