Lots to figure out. Wanted to see what MacKinnon contract looked like first for a comparable.

I gotta think Hayton folded on a firm offer from Armstrong. Otherwise what took so long to end at this deal? Seems pretty dang good for Arizona.

To flip it around what's the likelihood he's worse than a good 4c or low end 3c?

Robertson's in for a long battle

As Dallas's owner would rather give old guys big deals then the younglings

If he's a full-time NHL player this year, then this is a good deal. I'm not sure he has talent to be a full-time NHL player. That said, he's playing for the Coyotes, so I'm not sure you can consider them a real NHL team.

Hayton was like: I want KK and Dach money.
GM: No.
Hayton: Ok.

Another high draft pick (5th overall) who hasn't panned out yet, but he just turned 22, so it's too soon to give up on him. Might as well give him a couple more years to see if he can rise above the bottom 6. If he doesn't, this contract won't be too painful. If he does, it'll be a short-term steal and then they'll have to give him a big raise, but that would be a nice problem to have at this point.
