Detroit laugh and passes, Obviously LD isn't a need for us. Yzerman isn't giving up those kind of assets for a smallish Dman like Girard when he basically drafts Dmen that are 6'2" and up.

With how tight teams are on the cap, I don’t see many teams being able to fit Girard in. Not sure anyone ponies up a 1st in a deep draft that’s likely lottery plus more picks

I don't agree with this trade, but I would not say Detroit is set at LD... That is (to me) our weakest position now. Yes, we do have a solid amount of prospects in Edvinsson, Johansson, Viro, etc. Although, Edvinsson may be the only NHLer out of those so to pick up Girard I wouldn't be opposed, especially at his cap hit. This being said, I hope it comes cheaper than this.

Change it to a 2024 first and maybe or something like Johanson with a couple picks. My ideal deal would be a 2022 2nd 2023 4th and one of the ld prospects Johanson/sabrango/Viro maybe wallander. I'd just say no to edvinsson obviously and buium.

Hard pass by Detroit. Yzerman was already very clear that he wasn't trading first round picks and we don't need to add LHD anyways, we just need to be patient. Our pipeline is loaded with studs at LHD and even if only 1/3 of them hit, we'll have our top 4 locked for years to come.

Trading Wallinder would be a massive mistake, kid is a stud.
