Makar, Josi, McAvoy, Toews, Hedman, Fox, Ekblad, Heiskanen, Theodore, Carlson, Pelech, Seigenthaler
And before you say anything, Siegenthaler lead the NHL in defensive WAR and had a greater total WAR than Hughes, so I dont wanna hear a word about that.
Also, EK65, Reilly, Lindell, Chabot, Seider, Pulock, Dobson, Lindgren and Weegar are all in that same tier. All of them have significantly higher WAR than Hughes, but I do reward Hughes for his offensive production so there is a solid argument for him to be above some of them.
Now, I know youre gonna cry and disagree, which is fine. But these players I listed are getting taken from COMPUTER DATA, not some fans opinion. So if you are going to argue with any legitimacy, I expect it to be with statistics and data, not some opinionated argument
