Quinn is a superstar who arguably goes 1st overall in a 2018 redraft, probably 2nd at worst. It’s not egregious to say a proven young superstar dman is worth more than the 2nd overall pick from a draft that wasn’t considered too amazing at the top

that draft is also pretty weak. A lot of good players, nobody really is great unless you say Svech or Dahlin but IMO i wouldnt yet

Makar, Josi, McAvoy, Toews, Hedman, Fox, Ekblad, Heiskanen, Theodore, Carlson, Pelech, Seigenthaler

And before you say anything, Siegenthaler lead the NHL in defensive WAR and had a greater total WAR than Hughes, so I dont wanna hear a word about that.

Also, EK65, Reilly, Lindell, Chabot, Seider, Pulock, Dobson, Lindgren and Weegar are all in that same tier. All of them have significantly higher WAR than Hughes, but I do reward Hughes for his offensive production so there is a solid argument for him to be above some of them.

Now, I know youre gonna cry and disagree, which is fine. But these players I listed are getting taken from COMPUTER DATA, not some fans opinion. So if you are going to argue with any legitimacy, I expect it to be with statistics and data, not some opinionated argument

Jack had a terrible rookie year and has been incredible since. He had one of the unluckiest seasons in the past decade two years ago, followed up with a season that accurately represented his on-ice scoring chances. Quinn Hughes is somehow becoming the most overrated player in the NHL lmao

What about his second year? 31 points in 56 games is not superstar production. McDavid put over 100 points in 56. The gap is enormous. Jack Has more poor production season than good production seasons
