That Florida trade is interesting. Solves Florida's cap issues, Sandin improves the LD for Florida (I still love you Marc Staal), and gives them another pick (most likely 25-30). Toronto gets a second line C/LW which opens up flexibility.

Edited: Obviously with this deal, other deals would need to be in place for the cap space for Toronto. I don't know the IR status of how long Lily and Engvall are out, but if it is a decent enough stint, that should give them the time to find a way to get there.

I wouldn't say so. It's actually not bad at all. Drop Nyqvist and give kampf a raise and I would say it works.

If Muzzin has a "not bad" season he could be moved for something in return.

That’s an easy no from vegas. Whitecloud is locked up for 6 years under 3 millions. Doesn’t really get better than that for a RHD thru their prime

Maybe not. But there's certainly nothing bad for the leafs here.

I don't see how. Leafs need a top 6LW Florida needs lhd. The value seems close.

The hell they don't lol. Tavares nylander struggled at 5v5. This team has needed a proper top 6 LW for years.

They actually did not. They just got unlucky. Had great numbers is most statistical categories but had horrible goaltending while they were on the ice.

Dear god. Hemmed I. Their own end and struggling with chemistry is "unlucky". Poor goaltending? They'll see lots of that this year.

They tilted the ice in their favor. Possession, shots, expected goals, high danger chances etc etc. They had very positive numbers across the board. The only stat that actually was bad was their goals against. Yost and Bourne both did in depth articles about JT, Nylander and Kerfoot and they have confirmed this. But like everything on this site, reality is what people believe not what is actually true.

I watched every game. I don't really care what those twats think. This team could certainly use another talented winger since we only have 2. This is a need going back to 2017/18.

When you have such good RW and Centre, it's not that huge of a deal. I think we have good LW, not the best by any stretch but how many teams can say they have 4 forwards in their top 6? Even if the 5/6 members of the top 6 are only good players and not great, that still grades out exceptional high.

Now do I hope someone really finds a home with JT and Nylander and they take a big step, but I also think Kerfoot can absolutely do good there. But if Robertson or Engvall or Knies later in the year take off, then great. But to make massive changes to maybe see a bit better production from the LW at the cost of so much more, what the point?
