Not enough for Kane unless he says he's only waiving for NYR (which he might). Also not retaining on blackwood for multiple years especially after just signing him. No value in plugging a retention spot for 2 years for nothing when it can be better used on guys like Domi, AA, Toews, etc at the TDL

No appreciation of how bonuses would affect the cap next season. I never understand why folks want to trade for Kane for the whole season. A TDL makes much more sense for cap purposes, and likely Kane too. He will have a limited amount of teams that he would be willing to be traded to.

Rangers have no need for Blackwell nor would they want him. Kane would be a TDL move so his cap hit would be pro-rated.

Kane retention isn't the problem, it's blackwell, like I said
