Instead of paying all those picks to dump Armia and Hoffman, Habs will likely wait until they expire or will buy them out. Dubois isn't an immediate need so they can wait until FA.

As a jets fan, the only trade i really like is the Wheeler to the pens, but i wonder if it can be restructured a bit? Maybe Zucker and Kapanen plus a 2nd for Wheeler without retention? Zucker has struggled and is basically a cap dump so the value is offset by the 2nd rounder and Kapenen is a good young player that can slip into the jets top 9.

Colorado fans are gonna be all over your for the Scheifle deal.

Easy no from habs. Would rather let those contracts run out. No need for dubois now especially not at the cost of 2 firsts

Avs won't be able to retain Scheifele, so there's no way they are going to trade for him. It looks like they will just try Newhook in the 2C role, and maybe they will try to acquire someone later in the season if he's not ready.

Pens aren't trading Kapanen, and I would be if anyone trades for Wheeler this season.

Scheifele is not what the Avs need at all. They already have a dynamic scoring winger (and one of the best in the league at it) in MacKinnon. If they do get another center it would be for a more 2-way kind of player, someone who can fill some of the void left by Kadri.

That's a really good deal for Montreal which the undoubtedly would take, but the Jets wouldn't touch it.

There's is no chance Winnipeg takes back two cap dumps at this point in the off season and waits 3 drafts for one of the compensation firsts while being saddled with those two awful, awful contracts.

That leaves Dvorak, Kidney and a 2nd for Dubois, Dillon and a 2nd. Just terrible value for Winnipeg. Far less than they get at the TDL in 2 years for Dubois as a rental.
