Ben Meyers should be on here over Bowers

With an injury opening up a spot Kaut has a chance but I still think hes behind Maltsev and Sedlak on the depth chart

I dont think they will carry a 23 man roster, probably will only carry 21 or 22, especially if MacDermid/MacDonald are the scratches since they can fill in for both forwards and defense

I can easily see the avs signing Galynchuk off his PTO if he shows well now considering Nuke is iffy to start the season and Landy will miss some time.
They could do a 10 game experiment with him in the top 6 if he does enough to earn that contract

Well Galchenyuks PTO makes more sense now. If Val is out for a bit too (which seems likely) this is a golden opportunity for some of the kids. Ben Meyers is a lock to be on the opening day roster, Bowers is a long shot to even get a call up, Kaut, Maltsev, Ranta, and Foudy are all probably ahead of him, throw in Megna and that’s a long list of guys he is going to need a stellar camp.

Except you and I both know he’s smoke. Dude has been with how many organizations and last scored double digit in goals in 18-19, wouldn’t you rather see Olausson, Kaut, Maltsev get a chance for those 9 or so games?

Considering its only short term.....I would rather just use a guy like Galchenyuk to be a filler then ride the bench then have one of the young guys fill in and no matter what happens to them, they get sent down. I think if they make the team they make the team bc they are really NHL ready and force BEdnars hand

If its just an injury filler, play a guy you know you have 0 issues sitting in the press box afterwards while the young guys get their reps in in the AHL and be ready when their time comes. Olausson is the only guy you can see play in the top 6 and do something. Kaut and maltsev will always be depth players. They wont get the time to shine there.
