Description

Make a big move by offer sheeting Robertson from Dallas. This sets Buffalo's top 9 for the next several years as pretty solid, and it doesn't even include top picks like Savoie, Rosen, Ostlund, or Kulich.

Also as a smaller move, sign Stralman to play with his younger countryman Dahlin. Stralman can be the steady defensive-minded veteran who can help Dahlin get his confidence back and develop his all around game.

As elite as Robertson is, he's not worth 10 + million and Buffalo is in NO position to move their next two first.

Exactly. Personally I think the Sabres are set at wing, they may not have any one winger that is better than Robertson, but they should have quality and depth that make offer sheeting Robertson a mistake. I think the Sabres still have holes at 1c and right d that make a lot more sense if we are going to spend assets to acquire players.

Buffalo doesnt need to overspend on kids just to steal RFA, they just need to be patient, you already listed the reasons why

Sabres are definitely in a position to move their next 2 firsts, they just dont need to move them for a forward that they have a multitude of. They should use them to upgrade Jokiharju if he stalls out again this year

The picks if you move them need to be top 10 or at the very least top 5 protected. You can't do that with an RFA offer sheet which I was getting at. As long as the team is using the picks wisely then sure, but better be a heck of a player coming back

Why would vegas push the pick back another year (which will probably be a worse pick as you guys should be better in 23-24) for a measly 6th? No chance. I’m keeping the likely top 100 pick in this years class
