Assuming Holloway shows himself worthy of top-6 consideration in preseason, trading Puljujarvi for some value makes more sense to me than dropping assets to move Foegele. McLeod and Bastian bring youth, size, physicality, and speed to the bottom-6.

The Jackets trade presumes they're out of contention by the deadline. Overall, I think Columbus is the ideal trade partner for EDM this season given their abundance of youth pushing up through the ranks, their status as rebuilding/retooling.

Nyquist fills out the roster well as a veteran top-6 talent that keeps Hyman on the LW while adding yet more speed. Given he's also been used on the PK in Columbus and has a history with Holland, I see this as being the most probable deadline target for EDM.

Gavrikov reinforces the D corps in precisely the manner needed: prime-aged defensive stalwart LD to pair with Bouch and allows Kulak-Barrie to stay together heading into the postseason. While Holland and the Oilers have never given up a 1st for a rental, I could see someone like Gavrikov changing that if things are going well for the team and they can have discussions regarding an extension prior to the trade.

Ryan's inclusion in the trade is for cap purposes but is facilitated by M McLeod taking over his role as right side FO aficionado.
