Need some Minnesota fans to weigh in on this idea, cant see the Jets retaining on Schmidt if they move him, kinda doubt they want to move Schmidt anyway.

No reason for Jersey to give up anything for two years of Dillon. Not that he isn't worth his contract, but other ways to spend 3.3m X 2 and not give up anything
Minni, just might be need cap next season. Having 5m X 2 Schmidt....may not be worth it
Oilers have no urgency to trade PJ....he's worth more than that
Leafs...might have to trade Kerfoot for nothing...as you suggest. His M NTC might be a factor though to Winnipeg

Schmidt doesn't make sense for MN. MN is currently 4-2 LHS d-man heavy, making this trade would be 5-1. They are also very LHS FWD heavy.

Schmidt is plays mostly on the right side and is very comfortable playing on his offhand.

It's not a matter of playing offhand when Spurgeon, Freddy G, Hartman, and Dewar as the only RHS on the team. That is the equivalent of a 2nd pair d-man and a meh 3rd line/high end 4th line. Only one of them should be considered for use on the PP. It's just a completely unbalanced lineup.

Again Minnesota is full there. Than has Calen addison and Faber coming over
In cap hell also. Minnesota isn't taking on schmidt contract. So no..
LD is absolutely of zero need for Minnesota also
