Yeah maybe the Sabres will be good in a few years but by then Chychrun’s contract will be over or at least close to over. At that point he could have just waited till he’s a ufa and sign on a different team. He wants to win now

Too much plus he isn’t a need for the Sabres. He wouldn’t get any power play time. They already have players with his skill set.

Top 3 prospect pool in the league, hard to deny there is genuine talent with this team. New management is leading them into the right direction.

The Leafs would not have lost in the first round and the Sabres would have made the playoffs.

Sabres would pass on this trade.
They have their 3 LHD for the next 10 years.
