That eats up a decent chunk of CHI's cap flexibility, takes up a roster spot, and probably improves the team a bit. Also, pushing the picks out of 2023 is cheap. They probably want more to take on his contract. AT LEAST a 2023 3rd.

Chicago would be stupid not to do this. Foegele is a similar player to Hagel; retain 50% and he'll bring in a nice haul at the deadline.

based on what Puckedia mentioned that the oilers have to do to be $167 under the cap compliant by the opening roster, which includes waiving one Janmark or Ryan (if they dont make a trade). The oilers are in a bad spot cap wise. a 4th and 5th isnt enough to bail them out, specially they are going to waive someone if they cant make that trade.

I have a bad feeling that the oilers are going to get hammered on a Puljujarvi deal, which will be a huge mistake

They're trying to get as close to the cap as possible as it maximizes the LTIR relief. They don't HAVE to be that close. Holland already stated that he's comfortable going with a 21-man or 22-man roster... he's waiting for TC injuries.

With how the Edmonton media keeps on bringing it up, they really want to move Jesse for dumb reasons

Hopefully Holland isn’t that dumb, that’s what would worry me as their plan if they need or want to look for cap relief

I think it's mainly just Mark Spector and a couple of others who hate Puljujarvi and know that their articles will get lots of clicks. Edmonton's management and coaching staff have been all sorts of positive about Puljujarvi all summer.

Brad Holland is taking a bigger role every year and he's an analytics guy AFAIK. I don't see them taking a lowball offer on JP.

That’s encouraging, bc the 3rd round pick nonsense that staples was alluding to made 0 sense

Hagel is an all around offensive player with an ok defensive game and Foegele just throws the body around and not much else

It looks like you are over the cap by $19,834.

I’m a Blackhawks fan so I watched him when he was on the team at the time and I see no similarity to Foegele
