Vancouver pays a first in one of the most stacked draft classes for *checks notes* a fourth line centre we can’t afford?

If Vancouver spends a 1st it's going to be for a defenseman.

You will have to pay more to dump Armia elsewhere. Canes don’t need any more 4th liners.

Oooh, I think you know what Carolina say, but I can't say it because I'll get an infraction for it. So to put it nicely, Canes don't have cap space, if you want us to eat that deal, it's going to cost more than a pair of fourths. Seeing as there is term left on that deal, and you got paid a 1st to eat 1 year of double the money the Canes would be taking for 2, I think you know it's going to cost at least a 2nd + 3rd.

Florida passes, Crap doesn't get Spencer Knight.

Cold day in hell before Dylan Larkin signs with Montreal. And there's no way he's taking 7 x $8,500,000 from Montreal when he wants far more on the open market. Larkin will never make it to UFA. he'll get a deal done with hometown Detroit.

Canucks trade you a 2023 first round pick for a player who be their fourth line center? Comical…

While Dvo is not a 4th line centre like the lovely fans commenting here would like you to believe, I just don't see VAN being the location for him. And I doubt we'll get a '23 1st, it'll likely be a '24 if we get one.

Knight would cost exponentially more than that, your offer is woefully insufficient imo.

We won't be paying to remove contracts while we rebuild, Armia isn't a bad player but he is making ~1.4 mil too much. It's a good thing that we won't b e competing until likely the last year of his contract/year after his contract expires so we don't need to move him. We can retain on him in the last year of his contract or let him expire and use his money relief for a contract renewal on a guy like Slaf.

Oh wow a whole 1.5 million difference. You realize they said the same thing about Miller right?

RFA:

Caufield: 7,775,000M (a solid 60-65 point season for him would be great, IMO, for him to get 8M would have to be a 75-78 point season)
Knight: 5,000,000M (He’s going to elite for a long time once he gets a starting role)

UFA:

Allen: 2,750,000M (Needs to be solid this season to get 3.5M, I have him at 2.75M)
Larkin: 8,250,000M (a 80 point season would be great. I can see him getting 8.5M though)
Severson: 5,500,000 (he would have to have a monster year to get 6M. I see him going to Vancouver)
Tatar 1,500,000 (he has been bad the past year, would need to have a monster bounce back season)

Trades:
I think You should take out Montembeault and add someone like Drouin or Hoffman in IMO. I don’t think Armia will be traded and especially, not Carolina. They would have no room for him. Canucks don’t have any room for Dvorak. I used to have him going to COL but now that they signed Rodrigues as their 3rd lien C I don’t know where he would go.

Lines:

Slafkovsky - Suzuki - Caufield
Pitlick - Larkin - Anderson
Tatar - Dach - Gallagher
Hoffman - Evans - Roy

Edmundson - Savard
Matheson - Severson
Harris/Guhle - Wideman/Barron/Scheauneman

Knight - Allen
