Hard pass. Meyer is making the team and they just signed Galchenyuk to a PTO, Bednar said Sedlak is going to get PT and Kaut has looked great the first few days. Today in fact they had him in the 2nd line.

Yeah I forgot about Meyers - I don't know why he's not on CapFriendly's default roster. I was about to edit the post and find a way to add him to the roster.

That being said, I think Bonino would be a great target if the cap works. They should add that kind a center to take off some defensive duties off Newhook.

Bednar said he wants to play Newhook between Landy and Nichushkin two exceptional d forwards, but that might be a minute. When COL signed E-Rod that closed the door I think on guys like Bonino I mean they gave Galchenyuk a PTO.🤷‍♂️

I really like that Newhook wants the defensive deployments also. Should be a good pk guy.

I think Newhook is going to be a stud, the kid drives play wants to win and personally I think he is capable of 50+ pts.

The best part about opening night will be that Englund finally gets removed from the Avs roster. No idea why CapFriendly has had him on there all summer when he hasn't had an NHL deal.

Bonino could be a decent deadline rental if the Avs are looking for a bottom 6 C for depth, like the Sturm addition last year.

That said, can he skate well enough to keep up in the Ava system? Sturm is big C but he can also skate really well which is what made him a target.

Im going to assume avs could just claim a guy on waivers of Boninos level vs moving assets for him.

there is always a few shockers hitting the waiver wire at Training camp. Especially the cap strapped teams. Example oilers might have to waive one of Janmark or Ryan to get under the cap.

Correct, but thats not the point, they can find that type of talent later on via the waivers they are one of the few teams with cap space to pay with

They snagged NAK on the waiver wire last year. They can do something like that again.
