Am I missing something? Do the oilers need a cap dump that badly? I mean, I would take this deal in a heartbeat...

But would they?

Why is Buffalo giving them a 2nd. That should be coming from Edmonton too

Oilers fans are under the impression that the Sabres are willing to take on every teams trash and that their cap dump, Foegele, would greatly improve the Sabres despite being informed multiple times the Sabres have no use or want for him, yet 2 months later theyre still doing it instead of moving on and dumping him off in say like, Arizona, who just lost Ladd for the year and would make infinitely more sense for them

@Diaspora
When you chose the Vegas pick, you thought it would the last one in the second round?
Well let's make it clear, make the deal ONLY for the last Sabre pick of the second round.
Considering Pacioretty was moved for future considerations, this trade would be for essentially two seconds, which would be fair considering his salary and production.

Good point. Better to be explicit about it being the latest 2nd. Thinking about it some more, a 2024 1st would be better. The prospect pipeline is so crammed that we won't be able to play them all in 2025.

Honestly, I don't think Edmonton would do it -- it's a brush back pitch because I'm tired of seeing the same crappy Foegele proposals. But Oilers 2nd is not worth enough for the Sabres to take on the money. Two 2nds for a 1st is the way to look at it. I'd be looking for a flip destination the day this happened.
