He's worth it......but since the Jets don't seem to want to do a full rebuild, they'd probably want so more young talent coming over instead of all those 2nd and thirds.

The Jets wouldn't want to retain 35% on a contract that has 4 years left on it either.



35% retention on Connor makes it a bit of a bargain

It won't happen because the Jets aren't going to trade Kyle Conner but if it did happen something like this would be far more likely than Winnipeg retaining 35% on Connor and Calgary giving up a huge pile of picks.

No retention on anyone. Lucic and Valimaki make the cap work. Looch's contract expires next summer and Valimaki is still worth something decent. Or replace Pelletier and Valimaki with Kylington. That'd work for Calgary but Winnipeg would probably want an established young player rather than Pelletier or one of the picks. They'd probably ask for Mangiapane or Andersson and that'd be a deal breaker for Calgary.

Even then it's unlikely Winnipeg is on Looch's 10 team trade list and I can't see him waiving for them either. In that case it'd probably have to be Toffoli and Kylington instead of Looch, Valimaki and Pelletier which might be less appealing to both teams.
