as a cbj I've never been that high on Peeke as others, as he took forever to develop, as he did 3 years of college, and despite being big would actually kinda get ****ed around quite a bit during games. However, they did say he got noticeably bigger this offseason, and last year was only his first full season

First full season with only 31 one turnovers while playing as a top2 dmen is pretty insane.

If you are not handing the puck much, Its hard to turn it over.

Blankenburg is far more interesting to me.

That’s true but idk, if I’m right about this fine young man he could be a difference maker for Toronto. We really don’t need another flashy player. If he can be a strong shutdown dmen that doesn’t do mistakes and plays 20Mins per night that’s a hugeee win. I heard his name before but now I’m definitely a fan. Could be the perfect partner for Rielly

I never said he’s a Brodie. I did say we’re gonna need a replacement some time down the road. Peeke had x2 less giveaways. And double the blocks with triple the hits. They are different but I’m sure peeke would love to learn from Brodie. That type of dmen is very much needed on this team. Not every player has to be a puck carrying god.

Give aways are not a good way to judge defenceman. A guy who never handles the puck may have less give aways but he also doesn't do anything to help move the puck how Brodie can move the puck. Patrick Kane is often near the top of the league in give aways but he creates so much it's not a problem.

Valid point but what about the other stats I mentioned, kid is a beast and could be a game changer for us.

I don't care about hits and blocked shots as much as others seem to. If you have the puck all the time, you hit less and block less shots

Yea well you’re not gonna have the puck 24-7 in a hockey game.

True but Peake doesn't strike me as a guy who helps you maintain possession. Much like Mayfield in Long Island. Seems to be good in a system where he stands in front of his own net a lot and isn't asked to carry it. Peake isn't the type of player I think you think he is.
