Teams with lots of good players aren't really "in trouble" The trades....Three NHL players and top prospect for two NHL players with on year remaining 2 iffy NHL Dmen and 50th pick. Doesn't seem remotely fair to the Ducks or Preds.

Once again Anaheim doesn't want JVR how hard is it too figure out, One year of JVR does Anaheim no good you're probably looking at Kapaen at least for Vatanen. And Ellis is Nashvilles 2nd best D man after PK no way is Bozak and Marchenko whom has no value getting you Ryan Ellis. Both Anaheim and Nashville easily turn these offers down.

Guessing your American Kiekenapp? Eh, want to talk World Cup of Hockey, or Vancouver Olympics? Just wondering.

You've left the Leafs pretty thin up the middle if you aren't planning to make any other deals, even acquiring a FA/re-signing Boyle to help with face-offs. If JVR goes, his point production will need to somehow be replaced and I am not sure the Leafs have enough faith in Leivo to handle that on a full-time basis. It's not a direct replacement, but signing Patrick Eaves, if his contract was reasonable, could be a potential option. People might straight away think of TJ Oshie, but I feel like he will demand a contract of at least $6 million AAV, which probably would not be in the Leafs interest on a long-term deal. There are a couple draftees who fit the bill, but the Leafs would have to trade up to get them and each may take a year or so more of seasoning in junior.

How about World Juniors the past couple years? Or John Carlson ending you guys a few years back at the WJC? Or any IIHF event this year? Don't take shots at Americans, nobody's taking shots at Canadians. Dude made a joke. CTFO

Ellis isn't going anywhere. They aren't in expansion trouble, so they don't have to trade him really.

Exactly. Nashville protects 4-4-1 and they're fine.

Problem is Toronto fans overvalue their players, and others undervalue them. JVR was 9th in scoring among all LW this year. Hes had 30, 27 and 29 goal seasons in 4 years, and he scord 14 last year in 40 games. Of the pure LW in the game, hes in the top 10.

IIHF world rankings???? Who's at the top???? Who failed miserably at the World Cup??? Which was the true test of skill. A lot of those WJ guys aren't even going to become stars. Just friendly trash talk man.
