Opening night lines

Created by: Saskleaf

Description
They need to make a trade soon. Kerfoot seems the most logical, however, Muzzin to LTIR seems more likely at this point. Honestly I’m not even sure what to think of the lines. Maybe I’m putting a little too much on Jarkroks first preseason game lol and it will be Gaudette, Kerfoot, Malgin, etc in that top 6. That’s easily the biggest weak spot on this team: the 2nd line LW. I’m a little worried they won’t find a fit there and that second line will struggle. The bottom 6 looks pretty stacked though. A lot of good depth options, especially considering it is all but guaranteed ZAR will get a contract.

Jarnkrok played with Forsberg in Nashville. He fits in perfectly on the second line. I watched all his highlights and most of his stats , dude is legit and pretty underrated, he might not drop 50 pts like kerfoot but I think he’s better and a better scoring threat. I’m willing to bet he scores 20 this year maybe more

It will be interesting to see how things shake out. I really hope they sign ZAR. I also really hope Robertson gets a true opportunity. Put him in Jarnkroks spot and put Jarnkrok where gaudette is.

As for a trade, you can tell Dubas is being super patient. The only clear cap trade options are Kerfoot and Holl but you can tell he doesn't want to go down that route unless the package is substantial (otherwise they would have been gone by now). I wonder if Dubas is perfectly okay keeping all the players he has and running a 20 man roster and then let injuries dictate his moves.

We will see!

That’s kind of why I put him on the second line here. I think he is a good fit there.

I’m quite sure they will sign ZAR at this point. I think it’s just a cap thing that he’s not already signed.

I want to believe Robertson can do that, and I hope you are right, but I just don’t see him making it, at least out of camp. I hope I’m wrong though.

Yup, Dubas is very patient with his trades. I’m worried that he’s being too patient. I think at this point it’ll cost to clear cap space, even though if he would have done this earlier it wouldn’t have.

100% should have made the cap trades before the deadline. He was waiting to see if he needed to or not. And by the time it was clear he needed to, the cap around the league dried up. In my mind it was clear that they had to make a few minor changes around the edges and the cap space would be nice to have (and the picks they would have got back).

either way Kerfoot is a good player on a good contract and as is Holl for that matter. So It's all good if they keep them and just run the small roster.

We will see!

Wouldn’t mind trying that.

We will see! Even though I don’t like the idea I feel like a trade for cap is a necessity, I feel like they’ll just stick with this roster at this point, and use LTIR.
