Trading the best D man on the ice for us today for an expiring UFA? Not to mention the added picks

Talk about not knowing hockey. So he couldn't hit the net one game. So we should trade him? He was a standout this game and played 26 minutes... You're clearly trolling

The issue it's not just one game he is playing the same way he did last year in the nhl, it's the same reason he got sent down last year, he needs another year to develop, Canucks are interested in Sanhiem, Canucks seem to be in win now, Philly is blowing it up why not trade for a proven top 4 who fits the team better then rathbone, you can have to many small offensive D. He was a standout to me for all the wrong reason the only reason he played 26 mintues tonight is because we had no one else too

You could take out either Rathbone or the first and Vancouver still rejects

What? Rathbone looked like the best player on the ice. Why after that game would we trade him

Big cap

Rathbone for Sandin is just confusing for Vancouver. Value wise Sandin is probably higher but why ship out Rathbone for someone that does exactly what he does.

You aren’t getting a first for Sandin when Vancouver could just offer sheet him for a second if they *really* needed to.

They also don’t have the cap space to sign him

I thought he was pretty brutal tonight as well but I still wouldn't trade him yet

I think he had a mistake or two but a lot of the time it felt like he was controlling play. He had one really nice move early on. Honestly very happy with him

I missed the first 10 of the game so I wouldn't have seen that unfortunately, thought he had a few tough mistakes but hopefully will ease out of them as he gets more comfortable

Fair enough. The play was on the PP and with two people on him he put the puck through one guys legs and walked in for a shot. You can probably find the highlight on twitter from Daniel Wagner

"He needs another year to develop"

He was over a point per game in the AHL. He is 23 now. It is make or break season. He only played 9 games last year. You are getting ahead of yourself. Bruce Boudreau even commented that Rathbone had a good performance. I think I am going to trust the coach over a pessimistic capfriendly user

If I'm Van and Philly would do that and Sanheim will sign I'd do it without hesitation.

Make the pick a ‘23 first and the Flyers accept.

That's a pretty fair offer for Sanheim. Ideally we'd get a 2023 1st instead but I'd accept that

Canucks are in no position to be making this trade anyway

I’m no Canucks fan, but you seem to have a decent set of forwards and a great young goalie. You get some you g D men to play with Hughes and they could easily surprise. I’m not saying it’s wise to trade the ‘23 first, but a Sanheim trade makes sense for both teams. As a Flyer fan I’d be choked if they didn’t get a ‘23 first though…
