Schiefele is almost 30 and he only has 2 years left. The isles aren't including raty in a trade for him

Remove him and put Holmstrom and change the 2025 3rd to a 2025 2nd?

I would think there is zero chance Winnipeg does either deal.

They aren't going to look to get older o4f they move Scheifele.

If the Jets retain that much, they aren't trading Wheeler for a cap dump and bad contract. It defeats the purpose of moving him.

They are trading for the picks and prospects mainly. The rest it to even out cap which any team acquiring them will have to do. All players Winnipeg get back are serviceable. But the main focus is acquiring the picks and prospects.

As an Islanders/ Jets fan the islanders 100% shouldn’t do that and that would be a complete STEAL for Scheifele.

what do you see as a better deal for both teams? Or do you not see a fit? (I clearly see the fit but you may know better than me!)

No. Isles have some underrated forward prospects and Holmstrom is one of them. From what I’ve seen tonight alone he’s more than NHL ready. They probably don’t have room to roster him rn tho.

Scheifele is a POS. No one wants him. And nobody trades former first round picks and future first round picks for old men. Nobody smart that is.

The problem is the Jets aren't getting enough in either trade to balance what they give up.

In the islander trade the Jets get an old winger that isn't a replacement for a PPG 1C, a flop prospect a mid to late first and some nothing picks to go along with a decent center prospect. No where close to the value required for a consistent PPG 1C on a fantastic contract. If the Jets are trading Scheifele now, they need someone to replace Scheifele now.

The Edmonton trade is just ludicrous. The Jets give up the two best players by far and end up getting stuck paying Barrie almost $9.0 mil for two seasons and also get struck with a 2nd cap dump. All that for a mid first.

You are way overvaluing deadweight and cap dumps from Edmonton and low round picks and flops from the Islanders. While simultaneously undervaluing actual good Winnipeg players.
