Hoglander isn't a top 9 forward for OTT, and Zub is a top pairing RHD in Ottawa. The gap there is more than a 3rd, but Ottawa isn't moving Zub so it's irrelevant.

Sens don't consider that, Zub is the Sens' only good RD and Hoglander is a bubble top 6 W, even if the Sens lose Batherson. If you want a good RHD, the Sens aren't the place to go looking for it

Sens would only trade Zub if he tells them "sorry I am 100% not re-signing with you", which probably would have already happened at this point and then he would have been traded. An extension is most likely on its way

If not, then the Sens would trade Zub very differently than this

Keep in mind that teams trade from a position of strength to fill a position of need. You'd have to be pretty new at this to not know that.
