For Florida no, Vlasic isn’t a serviceable player anymore.

It’s unlikely Bob agrees to this anyways.

Doesn't make sense for either team.

Neither player would agree to it at this point. I would love to get rid of Vlasic but Bob isn’t much better. Very average numbers on a stacked team.

Honestly, If Im SJ, I'd do this. They'll get more out of Bobrovsky even at 10M than Vlasic at 7M for the same period. With Bob they'll be able to ship out Reimer and go with Kahkonen and Bob only while Vlasic is no longer an anchor on the blueline. From Flo's perspective, this is probably the most ecofriendly way to cut out Bobrovsky's cap. Buying out Vlasic next year is a fair chunk less than buying Bob out. With Knight poised to be the starter, this makes sense.

Obviously NMC's make this improbable but assuming both guys waived, it could work.

If Bob had shorter term, I could see SJ doing this 1-for-1. But with four years being equal, FLA comes out ahead by the cap savings, and I’d ask them to add if I’m SJ.

Goalies are largely voodoo as it is, and Bob just had his first serviceable year in FLA, which isn’t terribly reassuring to his value over the course of the remaining four years, particularly if he is downgrading to SJ. Each year that goes by makes me less certain Bob will be able to keep up, and I don’t think Bob is the difference between SJ being a rebuilding team versus them being a playoff team.
