Gotta think it's Kerfoot, as he as done well playing centre. Still a real cap issue for the Leafs. Tavares on LTIR for 10 games does save them about 1m though

I'm assuming it will be whipping boy Kerfoot.

How dare you. Kerfoot will be lucky to even make the leafs roster out of training camp. Send him anywhere for a 7th.

I like Kerfoot, but in a cap strapped league Kerfoot's trade value in October in minuscule. His playing value is much higher than his trade value.

I’d be down to see:

Bunting Matthews Marner
Holmberg Jarnkrok Nylander
Engvall Kerfoot Malgin

Agreed, not to mention that he's not great in the circle, and they probably aren't going to break up that top line either.

It was Nylander in the playoffs against the Habs who replaced Tavares, if they aren't giving the spot to Järnkrok, Kerfoot, or Gaudette (assuming he is healthy before Tavares and proves he can play on the second line) or any natural C, it would most likely be Nylander.

No, it was Kerfoot who replaced Tavares in the playoffs. Nylander continued at RW...with a different centre.

I agree I just think we already know that's an option so may as well see if either of the big boys are able to play C. But yea we know Jarnkrok and Kerfoot and play C and are the likely candidates.

I remember Nylander playing C at a point in that playoffs, might have been the game of the injury. He wasn't good, since it's a big adjustment since he wasn't use to it. So, they probably replaced Tavares with Kerfoot after that.

My point was to say if they aren't going to go with a natural C, they will try Nylander before Marner.

This is exactly why Keefe should keep Nylander and Marner on the wings
