Bunting or Giordano to be honest are hard to pass up.

I would give the nod to Gio. 800k x 2 is absolute madness. He would have gotten 3.5m + on the open market.

I would also argue that Evander Kane has the best contract on the Oilers. McDavid is generational and everyone would be happy to pay him 12.5 x 8. But man that Evander Kane contract is gorgeous.

Good one with Slavin. I was doing a very similar thread today (3 best per position) and I went with Toews over him, but I would change that now thinking about it. Recency bias I guess. Liljegren good too. One thing though, in my post I shied away from contracts with only 1 year left because I think part of what makes the contracts good is the cost + the years of control. Like last year Bunting gets it no doubt, but long term his contract is up this year.

bunting and gio were my next two but my reasoning for liljgren is 1 hes young with very solid to good upside 2 its very cheap for 2 years 3 he ends as an rfa giving full control to the leafs whether he stinks or he does well

hughes is a borderline superstar young offensive dman getting less than 8 mil long term, demko has less value as a goalie and has a shorter deal + is older was my thought process

yeah i only had 3 1 years 2 of which are rfas(terry, bratt) one of which is a hometown boy whos certainly resigning (larkin). control over years is very important more than aav imo
