Created by: FighterFoos23
Team: 2022-23 Philadelphia Flyers
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 18, 2022
Published: Sep. 27, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
*Disclaimer* I fully agree that the Flyers need a legit rebuild. In reality there is only a few pieces that should be kept. Those being Hart, Provorov and Farabee.
Trades
1.
PHI
  1. Hagelin, Carl
  2. Iorio, Vincent
  3. 2023 1st round pick (WSH)
  4. 2024 4th round pick (WSH)
WSH
  1. Sanheim, Travis ($2,337,500 retained)
Additional Details:
Washington trying to make another run at the cup trades for Sanheim. Flyers get a 1st, and prospect. Hagelin is included to help for Sanheim under the Capitals salary cap, a 4th is tacked on for Philly to take Hagelin. Capitals get a defenseman entering his prime and sign him to a 5x5.3m in the summer as Orlov walks.
2.
PHI
  1. 2024 3rd round pick (BOS)
BOS
  1. Braun, Justin
Additional Details:
TDL deal. Boston gets depth.
3.
PHI
  1. 2023 3rd round pick (NSH)
NSH
  1. van Riemsdyk, James ($3,500,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Preds get scoring depth for playoffs. Flyers retain 50%
4.
PHI
  1. Murphy, Connor
Additional Details:
I'll be honest this one I kinda just threw stuff at the wall to see what sticks. Anyways, Flyers should bring in a more stay a home defenseman to possibly play on the top pair with Provorov. Murphy may be a fit?
CHI
  1. Wisdom, Zayde
  2. 2023 3rd round pick (NSH)
  3. 2024 1st round pick (FLA)

I dont even think Hart, Provorov, or Farabee are worth keeping in a full rebuild tbh. None of them are core pieces to build a team around. Flyers are just a complete mess

As a Caps fan I love Sanheim but I'm not paying to get him. I'd just wait until the offseason. As of now Caps are set with their defense and don't NEED him unless they get super injured. Caps should just wait until the offseason then go after Sanheim if they can't get Orlov signed.

Hart is absolutely a core piece to build around. If anything. He is the only one.

Fair enough. But what do you think of the value?

He really only had 1 good year, his last 2 seasons have been terrible (-31.34 GSAx). Hes still young so maybe he finds his game again but I wouldnt be relying on him as a core piece to build a team around

Value on the trade is fine, but for Cap purposes I think the trade would simply be Iorio+1st for Sanheim, as Hagelin will be on LTIR for the foreseeable future. as @clockreads2113 said, I think the Caps probably wait until the offseason and figure out if they can get Orlov signed before taking a swing at Sanheim.

GSAx accounts for the quality of shots against. The team he plays for has no impact
