Ty SMITH was my POTG. Great puck skills, PP quarterback ability & was always in the right spot
Evgeni MALKIN stood out as the worst player >> still forces passes & tries to do too much
Jeff PETRY was in the middle, but stood out on PP
Brock MCGINN looked good, forechecking & scoring the opening goal
PP1 was awful >> PP2 looked a lot better

First game of the season for most of these guys. Just have to chalk it up to pre season rust and hope they learn from it

I agree on all of this, especially the Ty Smith part. I thought he looked better than anyone. My biggest concern is a lot of the issues in this game (looking slow, forcing passes, power play issues) were the same as last year. I'm not going to judge until the regular season, but definitely am a little concerned.

I hope so. Most likely that is the case and they will play much better in regular season. If not then it's a huge issue. Let's hope it was just rust.
