Early Season Lines Idea

Created by: BruinsFan35

Description
Greer has had two really solid preseason games and is apparently impressing at practices. I think he wins a spot to open up the season. Utilize waiver eligibility for guys like McLaughlin and Lysell, play them together in the AHL and let them take a lot of limited and (hopefully) light it up. Stud and Steen would have to pass waivers, and they’ve both played well so far. Let them play and hope they play themselves into full roles. Will become an issue with Marchand coming back, will have to probably trade someone. Sign Stralman, he played very well with Lindholm last night, he can have that spot until McAvoy comes back. It pains me to watch Mike Reilly play for the Bruins, trade him please.

A couple solid pre-season games. Let’s settle down. The guy hasn’t been able to become a consistent NHLer for a reason. Not saying he can’t make the jump, as guys his age have certainly rounded into form before, but its extremely unlikely.

Stralman played one game. Not only he isn't a top4 D but it's way to early to give him McAvoy's spot until he's back. Not sure what's the issue with Reilly. Agreed with your thoughts on Greer and the other young forwards.

I just don’t like Mike Reilly lol. Really no reason, just don’t like him. And Stralman is a bandaid. He’ll probably do as well as anyone else would to fill the void for the month or so that McAvoy will be out.

I absolutely agree. But he has impressed the Bruins brass thus far. I think enough so to make the roster day one. If he fails, then you correct that by dropping him to Providence and call up one of many options. If he succeeds, all the better.

How do you know he’s impressed the bruins brass?

Remember when Lauko scored a couple of pretty goals in overseas exhibitions and B’s fans went nuts, calling him a sure thing top 6 player with 30 goal potential? Despite the fact he’s never showed much offense at any level?

I liked the Greer signing and honestly thought he’d have a small shot at the roster. But let’s not get carried away. He’s Blidh with a bit more size bit more offense.

What’s he supposed to say? “Nah he sucks.” Of course not.

Spoiler alert - coaching staffs and front offices rarely tell fans the truth.

Fans are getting ridiculously reactionary the more media is available.
