Is it just me or how does Winnipeg still have so much cap space? Just cuz they didn't do much in the offseason?

Correct, their biggest money signing this off season was Rittich at 900k lol. All the rest were league min deals.

Samberg makes the team

I don't think he does, at least not with Dillon there. I agree that he SHOULD make this team but with the log jam, especially at LD, I don't think he does. I think Heinola beats out Samberg for the final spot. I wouldn't want any of the young waiver exempt players to be sitting in the press box either.

It amazes me how many d-men have passed Stanley on the depth chart. At this point just trade him as he's a literal bust.

Good way to put Samberg on the team is scratch Gagner and roll with 7 d-men.

Its depressing to look at who was drafted after Stanley.

I do think this is how the forward lines will shake out, the only real question will be is who the #5/6/7 dmen will be and who the 13th/14th forwards will be and if they go with two spare dmen instead of two spare forwards.

I think Maenelanen should make the team, the guy looks solid, might beat out Harkins for the 3LW spot. I know there's talk about Bowness playing who he thinks makes the team better no matter how long they've been a Jet or their waiver status but in the end I do think the guys who are waiver exempt like Samberg, Heinola and Barron will find themselves on the Moose cause Chevy won't want to risk losing Stanley on waivers.

Suppose there's still the chance of grabbing a guy like Claim Waiver off of waivers(😆) or Chevy does something in a cap casualty trade though I'm not sure if Chevy has got the boat in storage yet so would he really have time to make a trade.. 🤔

Yea that's a little frutstrating but also gives them lot's of flexibility going into this year and at the trade deadline. Gives a chance to see if Wheeler can still be a top 6 guy, if Perfetti is a top 6 guy, if the D-core is gonna have a bounce back year, then can maybe look at moving on from Schmidtt and or improve 2nd or 3rd line LW

I can see the new fourth line: Claim Waiver -- Casualty Cap -- Pickup Depth.
